Dr. Arthi Mohankumar is working as a Consultant Vitreoretinal surgeon at Keshava Eye Care Hospital, Chennai, India. She completed her MS in Ophthalmology from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Madras Medical College, Chennai, followed by advanced training in medical and surgical retina at Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry.
Dr. Mohankumar is a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO), a Fellow of the All India Collegium of Ophthalmology (FAICO) in Retina and Vitreous, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS Edin), and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS Glasg).
She has won multiple awards - the MVK Iyer Best Outgoing Student Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance during her MBBS, International Rising star award (YOSICON), AIOS International Hero award and Prof. Yasuo Tano travel grant APVRS 2025.
Her clinical and research interests include diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and ocular inflammation. She has published 80 peer-reviewed articles in indexed journals and has contributed to 10 book chapters. She is an active academician and has participated in numerous international, national, and state conferences as an invited speaker.
